What should i do? who should i pick?

ok so i have this best friend, pite, were gonna call her. in the beginning year we were friends with this really tight group of friends. then pite and trey started going out. things were going great until he left to nevada. then one of our friends said trey was just going out with pite to go to the dance. of course i didnt pick sides. then when he got back they broke up. it was all a lie. just gossip. but pite thought it was true. to wrap it all up they hate her and her hates them. im really good friends with them but she cant stand them. but shes my best friend who should i choose the tight group who are nice to me, or pite who gets mad at me for no reason but i mean shes my bff i llove her( not like that pervs gosh) ps ( ive know some of the guys since kindergarten, ive only known pite for 2 years)
