Liquid starch for putting fur fabric on my walls? Does it work?

So I've heard of a thing called liquid starch that doesn't damage your walls but will allow you to have fabric on them. Will it damage my wall? Does it leave any marks? Have you had personal experiences with it, if you have please tell!!!!? Where can you find it eg. local hardwear and are there any other alternatives like this to put fabrics up that wont damage my walls :)
